United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken (pictured) stated Thursday that Finland and Sweden will soon be called "NATO allies."
"Turkey has raised important security concerns in this process, and the process is being used effectively and productively to address those concerns," the secretary of state stressed at a press conference. At the same time, Blinken pointed out that including Sweden and Finland in NATO will not become a bilateral problem with Turkey.
His remarks come days after Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu insisted that Sweden "should take more steps" to resolve the core issues that Ankara had previously raised.
