United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken in separate phone calls with South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin and his Japanese counterpart Hayashi Yoshimasa talked about North Korea firing a projectile overlying Japan in its latest missile test.

The move, which the US sees as "reckless and dangerous" poses an "unacceptable threat to the Japanese public," State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said. "Secretary Blinken underscored that the US commitment to the defense of the ROK and Japan remains ironclad," Price noted, adding that all three officials condemned Pyongyang's latest move and agreed to continue trilateral cooperation.
