The United Kingdom's economy saw a quarterly expansion of 0.6% in the first quarter of 2024, surpassing expectations, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed in its preliminary report published on Friday.
Compared to the same trimester the year before, Britain's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 0.2%, coming in higher than expected.
In output terms, services observed a quarterly increase of 0.7%. Production went up by 0.8%. On the other hand, the construction sector declined by 0.9%.
