Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey said on Thursday there was "considerable turmoil" in the United Kingdom markets over the past two months and that it "will have some lasting effect."
The central bank will have to "work hard to put that in the past" as market liquidity is still not where it was in September, he told reporters following the BoE's latest decision to introduce the largest interest rate hike in over 30 years.
However, the bank now sees some positive signs about the situation, Bailey added.
