The UK banking system has managed this year to capitalize and gain high levels of liquidity. However, the general "risk environment remains challenging," Bank of England's Deputy Governor for Markets and Banking Dave Ramsden said on Friday in his speech at Deloitte, London.
"The Bank's Financial Policy Committee, which I'm a member of, reaffirmed last week that the UK banking system is well capitalized and has high levels of liquidity. Those are key elements in maintaining financial stability. But the overall risk environment remains challenging," Ramsdedn stated.
