Bank of Japan (BoJ) Governor Kazuo Ueda (pictured) reaffirmed on Friday the institution's plan to maintain its "ultra-loose" monetary policy to get inflation down to the 2% target.
Speaking at the National Credit Union Convention, Ueda added the BoJ will "respond nimbly" to all new developments in the economic and financial environment.
Ueda's remarks came following the report the bank is considering increasing its projection for the 2023 annual inflation rate from 2.5% to 3%.
