The Walt Disney Co. announced it has extended Bob Iger's term as the company's CEO until the end of 2026. The board of directors said the decision "provides continuity of leadership during the company’s ongoing transformation, and allows more time to execute a transition plan for CEO succession, which remains a priority for the board."
Iger was first appointed to the position in 2005, going on to oversee the acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox, among others. He announced his intention to retire in 2020, before being reappointed as CEO in 2022.
