Boeing jumps 5.6% on new US fighter jet contract

The Boeing Company saw its shares jump 5.6% after United States President Donald Trump announced the production of a state-of-the-art fighter jet marked F-47 with the aviation giant at the helm of the project.

According to reports, the aircraft could become the most expensive of its kind in history, with costs surpassing several billion dollars. Designed for advanced defense capabilities, the plane is expected to set a new benchmark in both technology and price.

Following the announcement, Boeing's shares traded 5.61% above the line at 1:02 pm ET.
