Boeing reportedly to launch flying cars in Asia by 2030

The Boeing Company has set its sights on bringing flying cars to Asia by 2030, Nikkei reported on Thursday, citing the company's Chief Technology Officer Todd Citron.

The media added that the US aircfat manufacturer intends to venture into the industry to cater to the demand for efficient transportation in the congested cities of Asia. To achieve this, Boeing is actively working on the development of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles through its subsidiary, Wisk Aero. The company's strategy involves obtaining certification in the United States before expanding its operations to Asia.

Boeing is currently evaluating various countries in Asia as potential entry points for its flying car initiative, the official said. One of the countries under consideration is Japan, where the company recently established a research and development base in Nagoya.
