The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, stated on Monday that his proposal for halting the political dialogue with Israel is set to put pressure on Benjamin Netanyahu's government.
The comment comes ahead of the EU foreign ministers meeting, where he is set to present his proposal outlined almost a week ago. In a paper published by the EU representative last week, he cited "serious" possible breaches of international humanitarian law in Gaza.
Commenting on other topics this morning, Borrell touched upon the recent reports that the Biden administration cleared Ukraine to use long-range US weapons, possibly moving the conflict into new stages. Borrell said that he hopes the EU agrees Ukraine should be able to hit targets inside Russia.
