The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, confirmed on Monday that Ukraine had received permission from the US to launch missiles "up to 300 kilometers" into Russian territory.
"The US has authorized the use of missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers for strikes on Russian territory," Borrell told the press after a Foreign Affairs Council meeting. "EU Foreign Ministers have not made a common decision to lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons on Russian territory, each country decides for itself."
The New York Times previously reported that US President Joe Biden greenlighted Ukraine's use of Washington-provided long-range missiles to carry out strikes inside Russian territory.
