European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell said on Sunday that he does not expect conflict in Ukraine to end soon, stressing that Russian President Vladimir Putin might choose to delay any resolution until "at least: the presidential elections in the United States this fall.
"In the meantime, we need to support the people of Ukraine," Borrell told the World Economic Forum in Riyadh. "We committed to support Ukraine when the war started, we have to continue to support Ukraine until Ukrainians are able to resist and until Putin decides to stop this war," Borrell underlined.
Earlier, Ukraine stated that Russia carried out 32 missile and 64 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory over the past day.
