Renault Chief Executive Officer Luca de Meo indicated on Thursday that the company has not ruled out a potential return to the Russian market.
"When we see a business opportunity, we'll try to grasp it," the CEO told the Financial Times in an interview but emphasized that the automaker is currently focused on other priorities, including the rapid expansion of its electric and hybrid vehicle lineup rather than restarting operations in Russia.
The French company suspended its operations in Russia in March 2022 following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. Its assets, including its stake in JSC AvtoVAZ, were later nationalized.
The carmaker's stock traded 3.03% lower, selling for €49.67 apiece at 2:26 pm CET.
