Britain's King Charles III crowned

Britain's King Charles III was crowned at Westminister Abbey on Saturday alongside his second wife, Queen Consort Camilla, in what marked the first British coronation in 70 years.

The 74-year-old monarch was anointed with holy oil and swore the oath of kings before St Edward's Crown was placed on his head in front of thousands of spectators.

Charles succeeded his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled the kingdom for 70 years and 214 days, marking the longest reign of any British monarch before her.
