The world's largest financial derivatives exchange CME Group stated on Wednesday it will close its Chicago trading floor on Friday evening as a precautionary measure due to concerns caused by the coronavirus.

If CME goes through with the planned closing, it would make the American company the first major exchange in the United States that closed a trading floor due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Later in the day, President Donald Trump is expected to announce new government decisions regarding the virus outbreak in the country.
