COVID-19 deaths are expected to continue to increase in the United States this week, although the country could see "beginning of a turnaround" during the next, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci (pictured) said on Wednesday.
"It's going to be a bad week for deaths," Fauci stated, noting, however, the expected death toll for the pandemic could be lower than initially expected.
It is time to "intensify" coronavirus-fighting efforts instead of "pulling back," the official added.
