Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told Radio-Canada in an interview on Thursday that he sees "progress" in the country's trade negotiations with the United States.
Carney labeled the talks as "intensive" as they cover key issues such as aluminium, aerospace, and defence. He also described the relationship with US President Donald Trump as "good."
The comments came after Trump raised the duty on Canadian steel and aluminum imports to 50%, which Carney dismissed as "unjustified" and "illegal."
