China is managing to control the coronavirus outbreak, Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday.
According to state media, the premier added that China also noticed a positive trend in coronavirus prevention. Earlier in the day, health officials in China stated that the virus is both "preventable" and "treatable" as they announced that the percentage of critically ill patients fell to 18% from 38% recorded at the start of the outbreak.
There are almost 72,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus globally, most of them in China, where the virus has killed 1,775. This week, a delegation of Chinese officials and the World Health Organization (WHO) will be inspecting a number of sites in China to help them come up with further response measures.
