China's Premier Li Qiang said on Wednesday that his government is ready to "deal with uncertainties" triggered by the escalating global trade war.
"We will push policies already released to land and take effect," Li told China Central Television after the country's Finance Ministry announced fresh 84% reciprocal tariffs on imports from the United States. He also assured that Beijing will come up with new policies “in a timely manner” according to changing circumstances.
"We should be aware that external shocks to China's economic stabilization create some pressures," the premier noted, adding that the country's economy was on a recovery course in the first quarter of 2025.
