China's Vice Premier Liu He said on Wednesday that the phase one trade agreement between the United States and China is based on "mutual respect and equality." It is also a deal that will benefit both countries, he added, expecting that Washington and Beijing will abide by it and "obtain tangible results."
The statement comes just a few hours ahead of the trade deal signing ceremony that will take place at the White House later today.
US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin also commented today on the trade agreement, saying that the US would cancel additional tariffs on Chinese goods in the second phase of the agreement.
