China's VP urges global regulation in AI

China's Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday called for global governance in artificial intelligence to avoid "reckless competition."

"We stand ready to honor the framework of the United Nations at its core, including all the relevant international organizations and all countries, to discuss the formulation of robust rules that ensure that AI will become a treasure cave found by Ali Baba rather than a Pandora's box," he added.
