The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) revealed on Tuesday that the retail sales of passenger vehicles in the country observed an annual increase of 3% in December to land at 2.17 million units.
The growth was the largest monthly rise since 2008, jumping by 31.4% from November to December, according to the data.
On the other hand, the sales of new-energy vehicles surged 48.9% on an annual basis, and 2.5% on a monthly one to reach 750,000 units. Meanwhile, Tesla Inc. sold 55,796 units, declining by 44,495 in comparison to the figure registered in November.
