China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) for manufacturing landed in the contractionary territory in March, decreasing to 49.5, according to a report released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) on Thursday.
The data, compiled by the NBS, showed the headline figure below the neutral 50, deteriorating compared to last month's 50.2 to land slightly below estimates and mark an overall production decline in the sector.
Additionally, the official non-manufacturing PMI fell to 48.4 in March on a yearly basis when compared to last month's figure of 51.6.
