The sales of new energy vehicles (NEV), or plug-in electric vehicles, in China, grew by 60.2% in May on a yearly basis, according to a report by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on Friday. Sales amounted to 717,000 units.
2.94 million NEVs were sold in China in the first five months of 2023, an increase of 46.8% year-on-year, according to the latest data. Meanwhile, the number of manufactured NEV units in China rose by 53% compared to May 2022, reaching 713,000.
