China and France issued on Friday a joint statement following the meeting of the two countries' presidents, Xi Jinping and Emmanuel Macron, respectively, in which they voiced their determination to "jointly promote world security and stability."
China and France also agreed to "strengthen" the political dialogue, mutual trust, and economic exchanges between them. They also stressed they are ready to "support all efforts to restore peace in Ukraine" and to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran.
Earlier this week, Macron and Xi signed a series of energy cooperation agreements during the former's visit to Beijing. Both sides also called for organizing peace negotiations on the situation in Ukraine "as soon as possible."
