The Indian External Affairs Ministry announced on Monday that the country and China agreed to restore direct flights between each other after five years of suspension.
The department published the statement after its head Vikram Misri visited Beijing on January 26 and 27 and met with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Hua Chunying.
The two sides also agreed to revive the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, a pilgrimage of the Hindu tradition dedicated to the deity of Shiva, with the end of its route located in Tibet.
