China's Foreign Ministry said that its top diplomat Wang Yi reaffirmed Beijing's support for a diplomatic solution to the Tehran nuclear issue during talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Beijing on Tuesday. As per the ministry's statement, Wang opposed the "use of force and unilateral sanctions," praised Iran's commitment not to develop nuclear weapons, and backed its right to peaceful nuclear energy.

He also described Iran as China's key strategic partner in the Middle East and called for closer cooperation across regional platforms such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Criticizing Washington's use of tariffs as "reckless and isolating," the minister said both Beijing and Tehran would work to counter unilateralism.

Meanwhile, Araghchi condemned Washington's "hegemonic bullying" and pledged Iran's firm support for the one-China principle, as well as its global role and core interests.
