China announces new measures against US

China's Foreign Ministry announced a set of new measures against the United States following the official visit to Taiwan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as tensions between the two countries continued to increase.

Beijing canceled the phone call between Washington and Beijing military leaders as well as the working meeting between the two countries' Defense Departments.

Furthermore, it suspended cooperation on migrant repatriation and on criminal judicial assistance, as well as work on combating transnational crime and drug control. Talks on climate change were also halted as the final measure.
