Between October 17 and November 5, roughly 918 COVID-19 infections have been confirmed in China causing the country to continue its "dynamic zero COVID" policy, Wu Liangyou, the deputy director from the NHC disease control bureau, said on Saturday.
The new cases confirmed in 44 cities across 20 provinces were all linked to unrelated, imported sources, prompting China to put a particular focus on risks associated with travel, as it works to prevent a domestic rebound of the virus.
As China reported to have vaccinated 75.96% of its population, Sinovac said that its COVID-19 vaccine is safe for distribution among children as young as six months of age, citing trials data.
