Chinese Ministry of Commerce condemned on Thursday the United States' decision to add 13 Chinese companies to its unverified list of export controls.

While speaking to reporters, a ministry spokesperson called on Washington to "immediately stop unreasonable suppression of Chinese firms," adding that Beijing will continue to safeguard its rights and interests.

"The US approach harms the foundation of bilateral cooperation, hinders companies from carrying out normal economic and trade activities, and undermines market rules," the spokesperson underscored.
