The Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday that it will prolong an anti-dumping investigation into brandy imported from the European Union until July 5 due to its complexity.

The probe was launched in January 2024 and was already extended once until April 2025. China imposed tariffs on brandy from the EU in November 2024 citing a "threat of substantial damage" to the domestic market. The EU challenged the decision at the World Trade Organization.
