China's chief trade negotiator Liu He invited United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin last week to visit Beijing before Thanksgiving for a new round of negotiations, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday citing people briefed on the matter.
The American side has reportedly indicated to Beijing that it would not be willing to travel to China for face-to-face talks unless there are clear commitments on intellectual property protection, forced technology transfers and more agricultural purchases.
