The government in Beijing is firmly committed to the international community's goal to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula and to maintain the nonproliferation mechanism, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday. The world's most populous country reacted to North Korea's apparent test of a hydrogen bomb, voicing strong opposition and condemnation, and adding it is working for peace and stability in the region.
The international community has "steadfast will" to comply with the decisions of the United Nations Security Council, the ministry warned the regime in Pyongyang, according to a report published by Xinhua. China demanded from North Korea to halt "incorrect actions" that are "against its own interests" and mount tensions, the statement adds and calls for the reestablishment of dialogue.
