The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is prepared to take the necessary action to deal with any attempts of secessionist moves in Taiwan, the Chinese National Defense Ministry spokesperson, Senior Colonel Tan Kefei, stated on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Tan added Beijing is ready to respond adequately to any external forces' effort to interfere in the issue of Taiwan.
Earlier this week, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen stated the island will be bolstering its military exchanges with the United States. Previously, US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman urged the international community to warn China about the consequences of a potential full conflict over Taiwan.
