China said to cut new investment in US private equity

Chinese state-linked companies will end new investments in private firms that have headquarters in the United States, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The halt in new investment would prevent Chinese firms from making fund committments to US firms.

According to the report, the decision came as a result of presssure from the Chinese government due to Beijing's ongoing trade war with Washington.
