China said to want joint tariff response with Japan

Chinese Premier Li Qiang (pictured) sent a letter to Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba calling for a coordinated response to tariffs imposed by the United States, Kyodo reported on Tuesday, citing an unnamed Japanese official.

According to the report, China is looking to forge closer ties with Japan amid global economic uncertainty triggered by the ongoing trade war. China also allegedly plans to end new investments in private firms that have their headquarters in the US.
