China says 'monitored' US warship through Taiwan Strait

Chinese military's Eastern Theatre Command stated on Monday in a social media post that it has "followed" and "monitored" the United States warship, USS Milius, that was passing through the Taiwan Strait.

Earlier, the US Navy asserted that the passage was of a "routine" nature and that the ship was sailing through waters "where high-seas freedoms of navigation and overflight apply in accordance with international law."
