Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning criticized on Thursday Biden's comments on Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying they were "extremely wrong."

Earlier, during a press conference, and asked about his earlier assessment of Xi as a dictator, the US president reassured, "he [Xi] is a dictator in the sense that he is a guy who runs a country that's a communist country that is based on a form of government totally different than ours."

At today's press conference, Mao added that those comments were not only wrong, but also the result of "irresponsible political manipulation."
