Etihad Airways will not be allowed to operate its flight EY862 to Shanghai for another week after the Civil Aviation Administration of China issued a circuit breaker on Tuesday. The ban is valid for the week of August 24, the authorities explained, meaning its August 30 flight has been canceled.
The suspension comes after China identified five new cases of COVID-19 among passengers that were on the Etihad Airways flight on August 15.
The initially temporary ban on the flight was supposed to end this week after having been introduced on August 17.
