China called on Tuesday for restraint from all parties after North Korea successfully conducted its first intercontinental ballistic missile test, AFP reported.

Responding to United States President Donald Trump's request that China makes a "heavy move" to end the "nonsense" over North Korea, Beijing added it has put in "relentless efforts" to deal with the issue.

Earlier, North Korea confirmed it fired an ICBM which flew about 933 km and successfully hit its intended target. South Korea strongly condemned the action and claimed it will not tolerate any provocations from Pyongyang.
