The Chinese Defense Ministry's spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang described on Thursday that the information the United States included in its 2024 Military Power Report, including the claims Beijing is boosting its nuclear capabilities, as "groundless accusations."

At a press conference, Zhang insisted that the issues in communications between China and the US come "solely" from the latter's side. He stressed that the two countries' relations should not be used as a "political show" to the world.

Previously, China dismissed the US's report as "irresponsible."
