China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Friday "strongly" denounced the trade agreement that Washington and Taipei inked on June 1, accusing the United States of using the deal to "rip Taiwan off."
"We once again urge the US to stop sending wrong signals to 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces, otherwise all consequences shall be borne by the US side," the spokesperson stressed.
"This gravely violates the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiques, and contravenes the US's commitment of maintaining only unofficial relations with Taiwan," the ministry's spokesperson reiterated.
