Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday that more discussions are needed before his government can decide to ratify Finland's and Sweden's applications to join NATO.
Orban confirmed that Hungary supports the two countries' bid to become members of the western military alliance in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, however noting that Turkey's concerns should also be considered.
"Regarding Turkey, they are also our allies, and therefore we need to hear their voice ... We need to pay attention to Turkey as, in the end, the entire process will stall. Unless there is a solution to Turkey's problem, the expansion could fail," Orban told local radio.
