Chipotle to hire 20,000 workers using AI

EPA-EFE/ALLISON DINNER

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. announced on Wednesday it aims to hire 20,000 new employees to prepare for its peak business period, known as the "Burrito Season," which spans from March to May.

To streamline this process, Chipotle is utilizing "Ava Cado," an AI-driven tool designed to enhance recruitment efficiency that has cut hiring time to just four days and doubled the number of applicants. Developed in collaboration with Paradox, "Ava Cado" is able "to chat with candidates, answer their questions about Chipotle, collect basic information, schedule interviews for hiring managers, and send offers to candidates who are selected by managers."

Further, Chipotle offers competitive benefits for new hires, including tuition reimbursement, free mental health services via the Calm app, and the opportunity to advance to high-paying Restaurateur roles within 3.5 years.
