Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's pick for vice president, Tim Kaine, voted early on Tuesday in Virginia. The VP candidate arrived to the polling station shortly after the voting began at 12 p.m. CET with his wife Anne.

Polling stations opened in Vermont at 11 a.m. CET and an hour later in Virginia, New York, Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey and parts of Indiana and Kentucky. Earlier today, the so-called midnight voting took place in three miniature towns in New Hampshire, with Trump taking the lead. However, the sample is so small that it is not relevant for the overall outcome.

First polling stations will close at 12 a.m. CET on Wednesday in Kentucky and Indiana.
