Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic condemned on Saturday Russia's "staggering violations of rights and international humanitarian law" during the conflict in Ukraine. She issued a statement after her four-day visit to Ukraine, adding that the task of bringing justice to victims is "incredibly daunting" while stressing its importance.
Mijatovic named Bucha, Borodyanka, Irpin and Andriivka as places where Russian forces have committed crimes. "Unfortunately, their inhabitants are not alone in their suffering. There are many more people across Ukraine who have suffered untold atrocities. Each of them deserves justice and must not be forgotten," she stated.
