Congress certifies Trump's presidential victory

The United States Congress officialized on Monday President-elect Donald Trump's triumph in the 2024 election.

Out of 538 electorate votes, Trump received 312, and his Democratic rival, outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris 226 votes. Likewise, their running mates JD Vance and Tim Walz garnered 312 and 226 votes, respectively.

As president of the Senate, Harris reminded that Trump's second presidential term begins on January 20, 2025.
