Consultant warns Brexit can push firms into Ireland

A potential shift to a stricter land border regime with Ireland is likely to trigger migration of companies from the northern part of the island, according to Simon Devlin. The head of management consultancy firm Full Circle in Belfast told the BBC on Wednesday that it is "a very distinct possibility."

He raised the question about the odds for an enterprise to move ten miles across the frontier to tap on benefits of the European Union's single market in case of a hard Brexit. Northern Ireland faces "very significant implications" when it comes to employment and production, Devlin stressed.
