Consumer confidence in the Eurozone recovered in April, standing at negative 16.9 points, in comparison to negative 18.7 in March, the European Commission estimated in its preliminary report published on Thursday. The figures beat market estimates of negative 20.0 points.
The consumer confidence indicator was up 2.0 points in the European Union and 1.8 points in the euro area in comparison to the previous month. Nevertheless, the indicator remained far below its long-term average.
