The price of copper futures slid on Friday as United States President Donald Trump's tariff announcement heavily hit markets across the board, including industrial commodities.
The uncertainty about the future of the global economy seemingly sent investors into panic mode, with many concerned about demand, as countries around the world prepared to retaliate against Washington, with China leading the way.
Copper futures for May dropped 5.12% at 7:29 am ET, going for $4.5817 per pound.
